U.S.Soldier Sentenced as Sex Offender

smdailyjournal.com(Calif): Soldier sentenced as sex offender.

The 25-year-old Army soldier who pleaded no contest to inappropriately touching a 13-year-old pen pal during a visit in Daly City and later exchanging nude photos with her while serving in Iraq was sentenced to time served but must register as a sex offender for life.

A.H. received a 349-day jail term with exactly that much in credit. He will spend three years on supervised probation during which he must enter a sex offender treatment program and avoid areas with children unless accompanied by a responsible adult approved by the probation department.

A.H. met the teen through an Internet pen pal program when he was overseas and, after a year of exchanges, he returned to the United States and received permission from the girl’s mother to visit earlier this year. While the girl’s mother was at work, A.H. fondled the girl until she pushed his hands away and told him to stop, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

A.H. returned to Iraq days later but continued sending text messages to the girl through February. After his numerous requests, the girl sent him a photo of herself topless and he responded with a nude photo of himself, according to the prosecution. The girl’s mother found the photos in April and began her own text message exchange with him during which he reportedly admitted his conduct.

Prosecutors charged
A.H. with three counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a minor under 14, one count of communicating with a minor under 14 with the intent to commit a lewd act and one count of sending harmful material to a minor with the intent to seduce. Rather than stand trial and face up to 14 years in prison, A.H. pleaded no contest in November to one felony count of molestation. In return, he was promised no more than a year in jail by the court although the District Attorney’s Office sought three years in prison.

This is who you are afraid of when you allow legislators to pass sex offender laws such as Adam Walsh Act, SORNA. And this is another example of the destruction which they levy on individual offenders , for a lifetime. Do you feel better now?
