Neb. Bill Would Further Restrict Sex Offenders

nebraska.tv : Neb. bill would further restrict sex offenders.

Lincoln, Neb. (AP) - Convicted sex offenders would face greater restrictions under a proposal from one state senator.
Read bill here.

Sen. Scott Price of Bellevue introduced a bill (LB694) on Wednesday that would require sex offenders to get written permission from a school principal or other official to be in a school or on its grounds. The bill also requires permission to participate in school-sponsored activities and athletic events or to ride in any school vehicle taking students to or from such events.

The measure would apply to anyone required to register as a sex offender and who has committed an aggravated offense involving a child. Violators would face misdemeanor charges. Sex offenders are already barred from living near schools or day care centers.

Keep in mind that many sex offenders are parents !
