Edmondsun.com : Bill targets sex offenders.
Edmond, OK— Rep. Jason Murphey, R-Guthrie, proposes to add further restrictions to state law that would prohibit some sex offenders from living close to an in-home day care. Terminology of a law signed by the governor in 2008 uses the words “day care facility” but did not refer to an in-home day care, Murphey said.
A $3,000 fine and/or imprisonment for no less than one year, not to exceed three years, would punish any person willfully violating this provision, according to the bill’s language.
